If you own a radio, computer, television, or any device with internet access (such as a tablet or mobile phone) you are obligated to pay a media license to DR (Danish Broadcasting Corporation).
Who is DR
DR is an independent, license-financed public institution comprising television, radio and online services and is required to provide a wide range of radio and TV programs of interest to all segments of the Danish population.
The compulsory media license
The license is an appliance fee and is set by the Danish Parliament. The license covers an entire household and must be paid whether you use DR's services or not. You can choose to pay the media license biannually or monthly. Some individuals are entitled to a reduced license payment.
