Sino-Denmark New Energy and Environmental Protection Research and Development Application Center was jointly established by the Horsens Municipal Government of Denmark, VIA University College, Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Environmental Protection, Administrative Committee of Chengdu Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone and EU Project Innovation Centre (EUPIC) on May 26, 2014.
The Center aims to become a key gateway and an example of a successful partnership between China and EU member countries in the realm of new energy and environmental protection. Twelve projects have been selected to receive support from the joint Sino-Danish Renewable Energy Development programme. The projects combine a focus on renewable energy research, development and demonstration with the promotion of the establishment of strong Sino-Danish business and institutional partnerships to cooperate on further development of renewable energy technologies in China.
